2. Summary

Repocharts works without analytics, without tracking cookies and without advertising networks. Fonts, images and scripts on our pages are served from our own domain. Personal data is only processed to deliver the website, to count ad views in anonymous form, and when advertisers book and manage campaigns.

3. Hosting and delivery

The website is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit a page, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical request data (such as time, page requested, browser) to deliver the page and to protect it against attacks. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and fast delivery of the website. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; we have concluded a data processing agreement with Cloudflare.

4. Storage in your browser

We store your chart display settings (which charts you show or hide) in your browser's local storage. If you log in as an advertiser or administrator, your login session is also stored there. This is strictly necessary to provide the functions you request (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete this data at any time in your browser settings.

5. Ads on Repocharts

Ads are delivered from our own database, hosted by Supabase Inc. on servers in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). When a page loads ads, your browser sends a request to Supabase, which processes your IP address for this purpose. We count how often each ad was viewed and clicked per day as a plain number. We do not store IP addresses, identifiers or profiles for this, and we do not set cookies. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is financing this website through advertising and reporting results to advertisers. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Supabase.

6. Advertiser accounts and bookings

When you book a campaign, we process your email address, booking details, payment status, the content of your ad and any images you upload. You log in with a one-time link sent to your email address. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (contract). Booking and invoice data is kept for the statutory retention periods (up to 10 years under § 147 AO and § 257 HGB); ad content is deleted when it is no longer needed. This data is stored with Supabase (see section 5). Login emails are sent through an email delivery provider acting on our behalf.

7. Payments with PayPal

Payments are processed by PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg. PayPal's script is only loaded after you click the PayPal button on the booking page. PayPal then processes the data required for the payment under its own responsibility. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. Details: PayPal privacy statement.

8. Contact form

If you send us a message through the form on our advertising page, we store the details you enter (name, email, company, website, message) in our database to answer your request. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for business inquiries, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We delete the data once your request is completed, unless retention obligations apply.

9. External links

Our pages link to repositories on GitHub, GitLab and Codeberg and to news articles on third-party websites. These sites are only loaded when you follow a link. Their own privacy policies apply.

10. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21). To exercise your rights, contact us at the email address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.
